Young men and women who are in at least the third grade, and who have received First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, may apply for the ministry of Altar Server. Those who serve in this ministry assist the priest and deacon during the celebration of the Mass.

Altar Servers hold the missal, water basin and towel for the priest during the Mass, assist with the presentation of the gifts, and perform other duties as necessary during Mass on feast days and at special celebrations.

Altar Servers must dress appropriately, be reverent and attentive during the Mass, and have an awareness of the importance of performing their duties in a way that inspires reverence in others. They must be willing to serve according to a published schedule and fulfill their assignments. Training for the ministry of Altar Server is held at various times during the year.
