By our very baptism we are called to live out our lives as missionary disciples. As Pope Francis writes in the Joy of the Gospel:
“In virtue of their baptism, all the members of the People of God have become missionary disciples (cf. Mt 28:19). All the baptized, whatever their position in the Church or their level of instruction in the faith, are agents of evangelization, and it would be insufficient to envisage a plan of evangelization to be carried out by professionals while the rest of the faithful would simply be passive recipients.”
Our Faith Formation Program looks at Saint Carlo Acutis and engages in his intercession to achieve the goal: the grow lifelong practitioners of our Catholic Faith, in friendship with Christ. Five crucial elements guide the practice of our faith: 1) Attend Holy Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation, 2) Receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation at least annually, 3) Receive the Sacrament of Communion at least Annually during the season of Easter, 4) Observe fasting and abstinence on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and Fridays during Lent, and 5) Provide for the material needs of the church.
