Today is the third Sunday of Advent. We are happy to have the Peace light here at SHC. This candle is lit at the Nativity Grotto in Bethlehem to spread Peace on Earth. The Candle will be part of our procession and placed on the altar. At the end of Mass votive candles, which have been lit from the Peace Candle, will be available to take home. In the spirit of Peace on Earth, let us join with all who pray for Peace, and hold peace in our hearts as we enter this time of quiet reflection.

With soft music in the background become aware of the way the music relaxes your mind….your spirit…your body….closing your eyes if you are comfortable…. becoming attentive to your surroundings …turning your attention inward…..Becoming more aware of being in God’s presence…in this sacred space….with this community of faith….coming to a new awareness that God holds you close, rejoicing in you…inviting you to become a peace-filled people who know the height and depth of God’s love and forgiveness for you…for us…   …It is as if God is saying to you personally… Fear not. Have no anxiety or worry… I renew you in love… be assured that I am with you…..Rest for a moment in the quiet of your heart, with the assurance of God’s word to you… May this Advent be a time of our becoming – individually and as a community of faith – the peaceful presence of Emmanuel – God–with-us.  Amen
